Conclusion
Create an environment that is safe, warm, and welcoming. Students come ready to learn and participate in everyday activities. To create this welcoming classroom the layout needs to fit student needs, display student work, and be arranged to promote student collaboration. Rules, guidelines, and expectations and direct and concise for easy student comprehension. Procedures are practiced on a regular basis and easy to follow steps. Consequences and rewards are used to motivate students and keep them on track. Creating a community helps students feel at home when they are away from home.
My philosophy is based off my experiences up until now in my teaching. It will continually be changing throughout my experiences in practicum two and student teaching as well as throughout my professional career. I plan to reflect on each area of classroom management and seek improvements and better understandings of each. I will continue to seek out professional development opportunities.
