Teaching Rules and Procedures

In order to successfully implement the expectation, the material needs to be taught to students. The guidelines poster shows the students exactly what is expected of them. The procedures are direct and clear for easy student understanding. These rules and procedures can be changing all the time. Adapt to student needs.
I will explain the rules and procedures and why we have them. Students will rehearse procedures until it becomes automatic. I will reinforce these rules and procedures when appropriate.

Rules/Guidelines/Expectations Activities
- For the first activity students will help create a “What "A great classmate" poster. This way students can be interactive with the rules and help create an environment of respect.
- For the second activity students will complete a “I can make good choices” worksheet and discuss their pictures and sentences with partners.
Procedure Activities
- I do, we do, you do. For the first activity I will demonstrate how to complete the procedure then the students will have a chance to practice all procedures as well multiple times. They will display how to properly complete these procedures. Students will re practice when needed.
- For the second activity students will create their own procedure steps for two different procedures not listed. They will include text and pictures to display their bathroom and putting away notebook procedures.
